Grow Your Own Salads!

Going green can be very easy, and we can help. One easy way to begin is to grow some of your own vegetables! Certain varieties of herbs, vegetables and flowers are easily grown by seed. Others are more difficult to start, so it would be much easier to buy your plants from us. Cool season veggies like lettuce, spinach, and peas can be started in the garden once you are able to work up the soil. However, once the temps warm up they tend to lose their flavor, so use that spot to grow a crop of green beans! A great time to get the rest of your vegetables and flowers planted is usually about the second weekend in May. These may be onions, tomatoes and peppers, plus cosmos or zinnias.

Try some edible flowers for your salads as well. Nasturtiums taste like a radish, while chive flowers have a mild onion flavor.

Have questions? We can help! Now is the perfect time to start planning to have the best gardens, ever!
